The Devonshire Soho

With a 3 week waiting list we persevered and recently had the pleasure of dining at The Devonshire in Soho, and I must say it was an exceptional experience.

This newly opened establishment, brought to life by the dream team of Oisin Rogers, Charlie Carroll, and Ashley Palmer-Watts, has quickly become one of London's most sought-after gastropubs.

The Devonshire seamlessly blends the charm of a traditional British pub with the sophistication of a high-end restaurant. The ground floor houses a lively pub area, while upstairs, you'll find the Grill Room, where the real culinary magic happens.

The food at The Devonshire is nothing short of outstanding. The kitchen, led by ex-Mark Hix chef Jamie Guy, focuses on British classics elevated to new heights. The menu features an impressive array of dishes, from hand-dived scallops and creel-caught langoustines to perfectly grilled Scottish beef.

I was particularly impressed by their commitment to sourcing the finest ingredients from across the UK

One of the highlights of the Grill Room is the impressive wood-fired grill, which adds a unique depth of flavor to the dishes.The atmosphere at The Devonshire strikes a perfect balance between lively and intimate. The thoughtful acoustic design allows for easy conversation, even when the restaurant is bustling

The decor is tastefully done, with period lighting and dark green sash windows that offer a glimpse of Soho's vibrant street life.

Service at The Devonshire is impeccable. The staff are knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about providing an excellent dining experience.

While it's not the cheapest dining option in London, the quality of food, ambiance, and service at The Devonshire justify the price point. It's the kind of place where you might splurge a bit on wine to complement the excellent food.

Guinness poured by the gods , beautiful scallops ,pork and sides to die for.
